Hebei Jinbiao manufactured and supplied double wire fencing for an infrastructure project in Germany in 2024, at a transport hub where the fence had to read as a boundary rather than as a wall, resist being climbed or cut, and still look like it belongs on a German site.
Our scope was the manufacture and supply of mats, posts, clamps and anti-climb elements to the project specification. Ground works, foundations and erection were outside it.

Double wire mesh mats at 75 x 150 mm aperture — the product family German buyers call a Doppelstabmatte
Galvanised steel wire with a polyester powder coating, colour matched to RAL
2.5 m fence height including anti-climb protection
Posts and clamp brackets, known in the German trade as Klemmhalter
Mounts for intrusion detection sensors integrated along the post line
Inspection and test records issued at dispatch
Mats bundled and posts packed separately for container shipment
The name describes the construction. Each horizontal rail is formed of two parallel wires with the verticals welded between them, so the rail is doubled rather than single. That is what lets the mat span between posts without a frame of its own, and what makes the edge resistant to being levered open.
Mats are then clamped to the posts rather than welded to them. On a long boundary that matters: a mat struck by a vehicle or damaged at one point can be unclamped and replaced on its own, without cutting the run or pulling posts out of the ground.
German buyers describe the same product with a wire combination and a coating mass rather than with adjectives. A typical specification reads 6/5/6 for the wire diameters and gives the zinc coating in grams per square metre, then names the RAL colour. Anthracite, RAL 7016, is the default on most German sites, which is why a fence in this family so often arrives dark rather than bright.
Height is the one place where this project sits outside the catalogue norm. German catalogue product generally runs from about 1230 mm to 2030 mm; this site was supplied at 2.5 m, with anti-climb protection added because the panel is above the height a standard mat is meant to reach.
The aperture on this project was 75 x 150 mm. The German garden standard is 50 x 200 mm, so the two are not interchangeable and the difference is visible from the road: a wider aperture shows more of what is behind the fence, and a taller one gives a different foothold. Which is right depends on what the site wants seen and what it wants stopped.
Posts are set at the spacing the mat length allows, normally around 2.5 m for this product, either cast into concrete or bolted to a hardstanding with base plates where the ground is already sealed. Coating, not foundations, is where a coastal or de-icing-salt site is dealt with on our side of the scope: the zinc mass under the powder coat is what sets the service life, and the clamp points are where a powder coat wears first.
It is the German name for a double wire mesh fence: a welded mat in which each horizontal rail is made of two parallel wires with verticals welded between them, clamped to steel posts. It is the default boundary fence for commercial, industrial and sports sites in Germany, and it is specified by wire combination, aperture, height, coating and RAL colour rather than by brand.
German specifications normally state the wires as a three-figure combination, most commonly 6/5/6 — 6 mm horizontal wires and 5 mm verticals. For the aperture, 50 x 200 mm is the catalogue standard for garden and general boundary use, while this project was supplied at 75 x 150 mm. Confirm the figures against the specification rather than assuming the catalogue default.
German catalogue heights run from roughly 1230 mm through 1530 mm and 1830 mm to about 2030 mm, with a mat length of around 2510 mm. This project was supplied at 2.5 m, above that range, which is why anti-climb protection was included. Above the standard range the fence stops being a boundary marker and starts being a climbing obstacle, and the specification has to say so explicitly.
Fire galvanising, hot-dip after welding, puts zinc on the welded joints and cut ends as well as the wire surface. Strip galvanising, sendzimir, coats the wire before the mat is welded, so the weld points are left with less protection. For a coastal site, a de-icing-salt route or a long service life, hot-dip is the specification that survives; for a dry inland boundary, strip galvanised is the cheaper answer and is widely sold in Germany for exactly that reason.
Colour and a second barrier over the zinc. The colour is what German buyers actually specify, usually RAL 7016 anthracite, and it has to be applied over a galvanised core rather than instead of one. It will not survive forever at the clamp points, where the bracket bites through the coating, so those are the places to inspect and touch up first.
With clamp brackets — Klemmhalter — that grip the mat edge and bolt to the post, rather than by welding. Posts are either cast into concrete footings or bolted down on base plates where the ground is already hard surfaced. The clamp detail is what allows a single mat to be replaced later, and it is worth confirming the bracket type against the post section before the order is placed.
Above roughly 2 m, and wherever the site has a real intrusion concern, yes. The usual options are angled arms with barbed wire, or a rotating roller barrier on top of the posts. Both are add-ons to the mat itself, so they have to be in the specification from the start — retrofitting them means new posts, not just new tops.
Mats are bundled flat and bound, posts are packed separately, and clamps and small parts travel in their own crates so nothing is lost in unloading. Port of discharge is normally Hamburg or Bremerhaven. Mats are bulky rather than heavy, so the container fills by volume, and the sea leg is the longer part of the schedule. Inspection and test records are issued at dispatch for the site file.
Send the boundary length, height, wire combination, aperture, zinc coating mass, RAL colour, post fixing method and destination port, and we will come back with a mat and post schedule and price. Jinbiao has manufactured fencing for infrastructure projects since 1990.
